The UAPs in the life of the Australian Province

Our new Australian Jesuit News format will better highlight the priorities of our Province, within the global Society of Jesus.

Our new Australian Jesuit News format will better highlight the priorities of our Province, within the global Society of Jesus.

The Universal Apostolic Preferences unite us in our mission as Jesuits and companions.

The four preferences; ‘Showing the way to God’, ‘Walking with the excluded’, ‘Journeying with youth’ and ‘Caring for our common home’ are a gift of the Holy Spirit to the whole Society of Jesus. They give purpose and direction to the work we do each day.

Australian Jesuit News (AJN), our fortnightly digital news publication, connects those involved with our mission with updates, stories and opportunities for prayer, highlighting and celebrating what our ministries in Australia and overseas do, and why.

We want AJN to reflect the priorities of our Province, within the global Society of Jesus, in both content and structure. Therefore, each story in AJN will now be grouped under the heading of the Universal Apostolic Preference of which it most closely relates.

We hope that this change will allow stories to be absorbed with a greater level of context and sense of purpose, and in turn will help to bring about a deeper connection to our mission.
