Shaping the future

Saint Ignatius’ College, Adelaide have announced the appointment of Mrs Lauren Brooks as the new Principal, commencing in 2024.

 JOURNEYING WITH YOUTH 

Mrs Lauren Brooks will begin at Saint Ignatius’ College, Adelaide in October, working alongside Barbara Watkins, who will continue to lead the College as Principal until the end of the year. As Principal and CEO, Lauren will also work with well-respected Rector, Fr Peter Hosking SJ, and she looks forward to engaging with the Ignatian charism and Jesuit tradition that has been shaped at the College.

Lauren joins the Saint Ignatius’ College community from Pedare Christian College, where she is the Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning (R-12). She brings a wealth of experience across R-12 contexts, with executive leadership roles in junior, middle and senior schools in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

As a Deputy Principal and Head of School, she has delivered innovative and future-focused programs resulting in higher student engagement, enrolments and academic outcomes. She is a strong advocate for the professional development of staff, leading through relationships built on trust and underpinned by Christian values.

Along with her husband, Stephen and two children, Arabella and Bill, Lauren is originally from Adelaide. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney, Master of Educational Leadership from the Australian Catholic University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

We look forward to welcoming Lauren into the College in Term 4 and to the future growth of the College under her leadership.
