Jesuit Education Australia is very pleased to share the news that Dr Paul Hine has been re-appointed as Principal of Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview until early 2025. In announcing this to the Riverview Community, Greg Mackay, Chair of the College Board, made the following comments:
“As we move into the new school year, I hope we are able to celebrate the breadth of our faith and community event life to its full potential. The last two years have challenged us to re-imagine elements of College life in ways we could not have envisioned. Faith Formation, Teaching and Learning, Co-curriculum, Pastoral Support, Boarding; it seems as though nothing has been spared. Experiences have been modified or missed. Yet, based on the feedback received from College communications over this period, I feel our Community has grown closer together through this adversity.

Our capacity to navigate these challenges, I believe, is in no small way attributable to the spiritual and educational leadership and absolute dedication of Fr. Renshaw, Dr. Hine, and the Executive. The College Board reflected on the future leadership needs of our Community as part of developing the 2020-2025 Strategic Directions document and through the course of 2021 held many discussions on the importance of experience, stability and continuity as we continue to navigate the pandemic and beyond. Following those reflections and after discussions with Dr. Hine, late last year the Board sought and received approval from Jesuit Education Australia to extend Dr. Hine’s contract as Principal until early 2025.
I am delighted to advise that Dr. Hine has graciously accepted this extension. We are fortunate to have an outstanding educator with such commitment to the Mission as our Principal in these volatile times.”
