Know yourself first

The Australian Province will seek to be guided by the
Holy Spirit through its current Apostolic Planning process.

The forthcoming Apostolic Planning process for our Australian Province is going to be hope-filled, prayerful, grounded in Cura Personalis (caring for each other) and Spirit-filled. As I wrote recently in the article Renewal and hope, Apostolic Planning:

  • Is a spiritual process;
  • Involves communal discernment;
  • Requires great communication.

Fr John Dardis SJ, General Counsellor for Discernment and Apostolic Planning at the Curia in Rome, is passionate about this subject. Following an informative, insightful and often passionate conference on Apostolic Planning in Rome, I am acutely aware of just how much this aspect of our work means to him.

He introduces this brief video, titled “Tips for your spiritual health”, by saying he wants to talk about “something I feel quite passionate about”. His succinct presentation was delivered in Rome during a week of training, sharing and discernment. This not only opens a window for us, it also gives us valuable insights into what we can expect this year as we consider what the Spirit is saying to us as a Province and how we can best respond.
