One of the foundations of the mission of the Australian Jesuit Province is that it involves both Jesuits and lay partners working in solidarity.
The Province owes a great debt to the dynamic and capable Jesuits who helped set up its many ministries – which include schools, parishes, social outreach organisations, overseas missions, spirituality centres and publishing houses. They helped establish the foundations for the Society’s work in Australia today.
In all of these ministries today, lay partners work closely with us in continuing the Society’s mission in Australia. In fact, many of our ministries have lay people as the head of ministry and in other key leadership positions.
